# Sources, licences and attribution

- **gpu-font 0.4.3**, dy, MIT. Pinned source/model/catalog commit `bd6634b92bd271d454d08a34dd1fd2c17398c434`. Source: https://github.com/dy/gpu-font . Licence: `assets/vendor/gpu-font/LICENSE`. The source's sole local modification exposes the actual WebGPU/CPU backend. The application adds its own worker orchestration, text-silhouette verification, preprocessing and interface. `verification/research/` retains upstream research/provenance notes.
- Catalogs contain names, style vectors and source links; they do not grant a licence to redistribute the underlying commercial font files. Upstream source decisions and caveats are recorded at https://github.com/dy/gpu-font/blob/bd6634b92bd271d454d08a34dd1fd2c17398c434/bench/foundries.json . Unknown prices, designers, licences, styles and glyph counts are not invented.
- Published specimen URLs follow the upstream `previews.mjs` mapping. DaFont samples are loaded from DaFont's public static preview URLs; other fixed specimens from https://dy.github.io/gpu-font/ . They are remote reference images, not bundled font software. Their font/foundry rights remain with their respective owners. The UI links each candidate to its catalog source where supplied. Fixed sample text is clearly distinguished from a locally rendered custom-text preview.
- **opentype.js 2.0.0**, MIT. Source: https://github.com/opentypejs/opentype.js . Licence: `assets/vendor/LICENSE-opentype`. Used to inspect local font metadata and original Google font files. WOFF2 metadata may be unavailable even when the browser can render the file.
- **Google Fonts** public metadata and original font manifest: https://fonts.google.com/metadata/fonts and https://github.com/google/fonts . The font-file map is pinned at commit `47d54ca1ebb14fd864695f1d39dc734f39017c33`. Font licences apply per family; download links and actual file metadata are available in Details. Catalogue membership and a free badge are not substitutes for reading the original licence.
- **Playfair Display** sample font, Google Fonts. Original variable TTF and OFL are bundled at `assets/fonts/sample-font.ttf` and `assets/fonts/SAMPLE-FONT-LICENSE.txt`. Clean example text is rendered from that font; it is not an accuracy benchmark for the whole catalog.
- **AllNewTools** public UI assets were consulted for the owner's requested PixelKit styling. The final tool intentionally omits a site header/footer; production integration must add the site's own shared header/footer and account/credit/advertising runtime. The bundled DM Sans UI font and its notice remain under assets/site/assets/fonts; site-owned branding is not relicensed by the engine's MIT licence.

Font names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Public font downloads, personal-use/demo fonts and commercial-use licences are different; check the linked source before using a font in a project.

- **Gloss Manuscript**: verified OFL-1.1 Regular, Italic and Bold TTF/WOFF2 files from https://github.com/yonathanarbel/open_fonts at commit `024b469420192231d4954cf6d6add0c2e0d406fe`. Original files and notice are self-hosted in `assets/fonts/open/gloss-manuscript/`; no outlines were modified. The face-specific resolver is in `open-fonts.js`. These files enable local custom-text previews; they do not change the matching model or its ranking pipeline.

- **Lucide / Feather move icon**, supplied by the site owner, used inline in the bookmark button and guide. Lucide ISC and Feather-derived MIT notices are retained in assets/vendor/LICENSE-lucide. Source: https://github.com/lucide-icons/lucide .
