Check different moments using playback and the seek bar where your browser supports the source format. Otherwise, crop on a decoded first-frame preview.
Your original stays safe
Video processing happens on your device. Download a separate MP4; your source file is never changed or uploaded.
What happens to the cropped video?
The selected rectangle is applied to the entire video. Cropping removes picture content outside it and does not follow a moving subject. The remaining pixels are not enlarged. Rotation and sample aspect ratio are normalized before cropping so the selection follows the displayed picture.
Export uses H.264 video with the first audio track encoded to AAC, unless removed. Extra tracks, subtitles, descriptive tags, attachments and chapters are omitted. Re-encoding is lossy, and cropping does not guarantee a smaller file. HDR is not yet supported.
The tool supports one video up to 512 MiB. Browser memory can limit long recordings. WebAssembly and module workers are required; the shared engine downloads about 31 MiB on first use. Keep the page open while exporting.
