Frequently asked questions
Which AI/EPS files can be converted?
Only PDF-compatible ones: Illustrator files saved with "Create PDF Compatible File" checked (the default), and EPS files that include an embedded preview. We detect this automatically — if your file isn't compatible, you'll get a clear message, not a broken download.
Why can't old .ai/.eps files convert in a browser?
Use a current browser with JavaScript enabled. Support for individual file types, graphics features and large files depends on the browser and device; try a smaller file if a task exceeds available memory.
How do I make my .ai file compatible?
In Illustrator: File → Save As → check "Create PDF Compatible File" (it's on by default). Then re-upload here.
What quality do I get?
The 2× setting renders at double resolution — plenty for web and most print previews. 3× gives maximum detail for large prints.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Rendering happens entirely in your browser with pdf.js. Your file never leaves your device.
