Frequently asked questions

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

Work in focused 25-minute blocks ("pomodoros") separated by 5-minute breaks. After four blocks, take a longer 15–30 minute break. The rhythm keeps you fresh and makes big tasks feel smaller.

Why 25 minutes?

It's long enough to make real progress and short enough to stay sharp. If 25 feels off, change the durations above — 50/10 works well for deep work.

What happens after 4 focus sessions?

The timer automatically switches you to a long break, and the session dots reset for the next round.

Will I be notified when time is up?

Yes — a sound plays and a browser notification appears. Your browser will ask for notification permission the first time you start a session; you can use the timer with sound only if you decline.

Do I need to keep the tab open?

Keep this tab open (it can be in the background) for the most accurate timing. Browsers may slow down background tabs, so the display can lag slightly if the tab is hidden for a long time.

Are my settings saved?

Your custom durations are saved in this browser and restored next visit. Nothing leaves your device.
