Frequently asked questions

What counts as "transparent"?

Any pixel whose alpha channel is below fully opaque (255). Even a single semi-transparent pixel means the image carries transparency.

My PNG looks transparent but the answer is NO?

The image may have a white (or other solid-color) background baked in — common with downloaded "PNG" files. Only true alpha transparency counts.

Can JPGs be transparent?

No — the JPEG format has no alpha channel, so JPGs always report NO. Use PNG or WebP for transparency.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The pixel scan runs entirely in your browser with the canvas API. Your files never leave your device.
