Frequently asked questions
What counts as "special symbols"?
Symbols that aren't letters, numbers, whitespace or common punctuation — things like ©, ®, ™, currency signs and math symbols. Everyday punctuation (! ? . ,) has its own preset.
Does "whitespace" remove line breaks?
It removes spaces and tabs only, so your lines stay intact. If you want to join lines too, use the Line Break Remover tool.
Can I combine presets with custom characters?
Yes — tick any presets you want and type extra characters in the custom field. Everything selected is removed in one pass.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. Removal happens entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Your text never leaves your device.
What happens if I select nothing?
The tool will tell you to pick at least one preset or type custom characters — it won't change your text until you choose something to remove.
