What counts as an extra space?
Any run of two or more spaces in a row, plus tab characters when the tab option is on. Each run is collapsed down to a single space, and leading/trailing spaces on each line are trimmed.
Will it change my line breaks?
No. Line breaks are preserved exactly — only spaces and tabs within each line are cleaned. If you also want to remove blank lines, use our Remove Empty Lines tool.
