Frequently asked questions
How does the shuffling work?
Your text is split into words, which are then shuffled with the Fisher–Yates algorithm — the standard way to produce a truly unbiased random ordering. Every shuffle is different.
What counts as a "word"?
Anything separated by whitespace. Punctuation stays attached to its word (so "hello," shuffles as one unit).
Can I get the same shuffle twice?
It's extremely unlikely with more than a few words — there are millions of possible orders. Hit "Shuffle again" if you want a fresh mix.
What is this useful for?
Word games and puzzles, creative writing prompts, brainstorming exercises, classroom activities, and testing how your brain unscrambles text.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. The shuffle happens entirely in your browser. Your text never leaves your device.
